Imagine waking up to the sun shining, the birds singing their morning songs, and a beautiful homemade breakfast set out on the patio of a charming 1890 Victorian home, located right in the heart of the Silicon Valley. The bougainvilleas are just beginning to bloom and the wind chimes sound to the beat of the soft breeze. You wake up thinking to yourself: “Isn’t this just a little piece of heaven?”.

This is how our morning began on Valentine’s Day at the Madison Street Inn.

Happy couples from all over the United States started their day of romance with old-fashioned charm, great company and even more delicious food. Orange juice was served in champagne glasses and hot coffee and tea provided all morning long, to our early birds’ delight. Conversations between new friends continued until mid-morning, until guests strolled along to their next romantic pursuit for the day.

The Madison Street Inn is a beautiful escape from the bustling atmosphere of the Silicon Valley. Even couples who chose to enjoy a staycation getaway in their place of residence were utterly surprised at the tranquility and romantic ambiance that they discovered when entering the Inn. If just the setting hasn’t convinced you, it is impossible to forget about the table that has an endless supply of port wine and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Theresa’s chocolate chip cookies are to die for.

As Valentine’s Day continued, we began our transition from a charming daytime retreat to a cozy and romantic evening escape. Candles were lit next to the Jacuzzi—flower petals floating in the bubbling water. A bouquet of roses and lilies were given to each room, along with a romantic comedy, The Proposal, and chocolates, on behalf of Madison Street Inn.

We had a young gentleman who used the natural beauty and allure of the Inn and added his own chivalrous charm to make our Cabernet Suite into a whimsical hideaway to share with the woman in his life.

Two of our younger friends of the Inn, Ava and Carter, even decided that they wanted to make handmade valentines for each room. It was an adorable addition to an already delightful setting. Thanks, Ava and Carter, for making Valentine’s Day at Madison Street Inn that much more special!
